July 2026 RV Recalls: Is Your RV on the List?

Every month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) publishes safety recalls affecting motorhomes and towables. July 2026 was a busy one, with recalls touching some of the biggest names in the industry, including Forest River, Jayco, Tiffin, Winnebago, and Grand Design.

Here's the full rundown. If your RV appears below, the repair is free at your dealer. You can also check any VIN directly at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

The big one this month: MaxxAir fan fire risk

A single supplier issue drove recalls across five manufacturers this month. The MaxxAir N-Series Maxxfan roof fan has a circuit board that can overheat, creating a fire risk. If your RV has this fan, take this one seriously and schedule the inspection.

Affected units include:

Tiffin: 2026-2027 Zephyr, Wayfarer, Phaeton, Open Trail, GT1, Allegro Red, Allegro Open Road, Allegro Bus, and Allegro Bay, plus 2026 Midas, Byway, and Allegro Breeze (NHTSA 26V412000, letters expected August 28) Winnebago: 2027 Navion and View (NHTSA 26V450000, letters expected September 4) Grand Design: 2026-2027 Lineage motorhomes (NHTSA 26V446000, letters mailed July 21) Forest River: 2026-2027 Pause travel trailers and OGV Luxury Coach units (NHTSA 26V477000) Foretravel: 2027 Realm Presidential motorhomes (NHTSA 26V464000)

In every case the remedy is the same: your dealer inspects the fan's circuit board and replaces it at no cost.

Grand Design

2026 Imagine travel trailers (NHTSA 26V490000). Screws securing 120V outlets may have been improperly installed and can contact wiring, creating a risk of electrical arcing or fire. Dealers will inspect and repair. Owner letters are expected August 17. Questions: 574-825-9679.

Jayco and Entegra

Jayco had the busiest month of any manufacturer:

2026 Heartland Cyclone travel trailers and fifth wheels and 2026 Seismic fifth wheel toy haulers (NHTSA 26V427000 and 26V426000). The inverter may lack a proper grounding connection, creating overheating, shock, and fire risks. Dealers install a ground wire. 2027 Entegra Accolade and Jayco Seneca motorhomes (NHTSA 26V416000). Front dinette brackets may be missing, meaning the dinette could shift or detach while driving. Dealers install the brackets. 2025-2026 Entegra Reatta, Reatta XL, Cornerstone, Aspire, and Anthem motorhomes on Spartan chassis (NHTSA 26V484000). Brake lights can stay illuminated when the brakes aren't applied, so traffic behind you may not recognize actual braking. A pressure switch replacement fixes it, with letters expected August 31. 2026 Entegra Anthem (NHTSA 26V483000). The certification label lists the wrong tire size, which could lead to incorrect replacement tires. Corrected labels were mailed July 28. 2024 Jayco Alante and Entegra Vision (NHTSA 26V411000). Incorrect weight information on the cargo capacity label. Corrected labels went out July 1.

Forest River

Beyond the MaxxAir issue, Forest River recalled units for labeling errors that can lead to accidental overloading:

2026-2027 Wildwood and Salem travel trailers (NHTSA 26V439000): incorrect GVWR on the federal placard. 2027 Unmapped, Sabre, No Boundaries, Ibex, and Surveyor travel trailers (NHTSA 26V476000): incorrect fresh water tank capacity listed.

Both are fixed with corrected labels from your dealer. A mislabeled weight rating sounds minor, but towing an overloaded trailer is one of the most common causes of RV accidents, so it's worth confirming your real numbers.

Foretravel

2025-2027 Realm Presidential motorhomes (NHTSA 26V486000). Like the Spartan-chassis Entegras above, brake lights can stay on when the brakes aren't applied. Pressure switch replacement, with letters expected September 21. Contact: 800-955-6226.

Ember RV

2027 Overland, E-Series, and Touring Series travel trailers (NHTSA 26V469000). The federal certification label carries an incorrect VIN, which could make it hard for owners to learn about future recalls. Replacement labels are being mailed, with letters expected August 3. Contact: 844-732-4204.

What to do if your RV is on the list Confirm your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. Model names alone aren't enough; recalls apply to specific VIN ranges. Call your dealer and reference the recall number. Recall repairs are always free, regardless of warranty status. Keep the paperwork. Documented recall completion helps your resale value later. Buyers (and buyers' inspectors) check.
